Addax Petroleum Cameroon, a company of the Sinopec Group, has received with satisfaction, the completion of a new Helicopter Landing Port constructed at altitude 3200 meters on the Cameroun Mountain.
The contract to construct the heliport was awarded on the 6th of May 2021 to Afose Works Plc, a company involves in the development, deployment and maintenance of telecom infrastructure, air conditioning, Tank Cleaning, maintenances and rigging services in the offshore and onshore oil an gas industry.
The job included conception and designed of the Heliport, transportation of 25 tons of construction materials from Douala to Mount Cameroun, excavation works, concreting works, installation of aviation obstruction and some weather monitoring equipements.
The project was delivered 5 days ahead of schedule, the execution took 45 days as against the 50 days initially planned for carrying out and delivery of the project.
The Heliport will be able to receive helicopters with maximum length of 13.73 meters including main rotor length when hovering, it will withstand crafts with a maximum capacity of 2389 kilograms dead weight. Helicopters to land on this heliport should not exceed a maximum length of 11.63.
The Helicopter Landing Port will serve all organizations operating facilities on the Cameroun mountain and within the Mount Cameroun National Park. It will facilitate the evacuation of tourists visiting the mount Cameroun National park in case a medical evacuation is activated. It will provide great relief to the military carrying out operations on mount Cameroun, the mount Cameroon National Park, Addax Petroleum Cameroun, Perenco Cameroun and other organisations operating facilities offshore further to the west coast of Cameroun.
